Andrew Young narrowly escaped jail Tuesday night, and word is that his former boss John Edwards may have his own legal troubles on the docket.

The National Enquirer is reporting that a Federal Grand Jury is about to indict the former North Carolina Senator for misuse of campaign funds that were allegedly funneled to his mistress and campaign videographer Rielle Hunter. The information comes from an unidentified insider. Last summer, Hunter was reported to have testified before a grand jury at the federal court house in Raleigh. The results of those hearings are not for public record.

The supermarket tabloid is known for its less than stellar reputation and most popular for its Elvis and alien sightings. But it may soon be known for being a Pulitzer Prize winner, as the magazine’s nomination is eligible in two categories: Investigative Reporting and National News Reporting for single-handedly breaking the various facets of the John Edwards scandal.
