Jordan Football Prospect Commits To UNC

UNC football coach Butch Davis has earned a commitment from a local high school product.

WRAL.com reports that Durham Jordan junior T.J. Thorpe committed to Carolina over the weekend. The report states that Thorpe already had received offers from Duke, East Carolina, Wake Forest and N.C. State, to name a few.

Thorpe usually played wide receiver for the Falcons last season, where he caught 55 passes for 950 yards and five touchdowns. He also received heavy playing time as a running back and returned kicks. Thorpe helped Jordan to a 6-6 record last season in the PAC-6 conference playing under Coach Mike Briggs. He’s expected to enroll at UNC in 2011.
